Cockington Green Gardens
A world in miniature
schedule 1 min read / Updated Jun 2026
Cockington Green Gardens in Nicholls is a unique attraction built around an extraordinary collection of handcrafted miniature buildings displayed across beautifully manicured grounds. Drawing on the English village of Cockington in Devon for its character, the gardens have expanded over decades to include landmark buildings from more than 30 countries, all presented at a meticulous 1:12 scale.
The English Village section recreates a timeless rural scene complete with villagers, a cricket match in progress, thatched pubs, and Norman-era churches surrounded by hand-cut lawns. The International Display extends the journey globally, with faithfully detailed miniatures of world icons set in manicured garden beds with interactive buttons that animate trains and windmills.
Inside, a remarkable dolls house anchors the indoor display, while a miniature steam train loops the international precinct for an extra charge. A licensed garden cafe, free barbecue facilities, and gift shops make Cockington Green a comfortable half-day outing, open seven days with last entry in the afternoon.
