Corbett Gardens
Bowral's floral heart
schedule 1 min read / Updated Jun 2026
Corbett Gardens is the centrepiece of Bowral, a beautifully maintained public park that draws visitors year-round with its sweeping lawns, seasonal flower displays, and ornamental plantings. Each spring it transforms into the showground for the Tulip Time Flower Festival, one of New South Wales's most celebrated garden events.
The gardens are free to enter outside festival season and welcome families, dog walkers, and picnickers throughout the year. Mature deciduous trees frame the lawns, creating vivid autumn colour in the cooler months, while rose beds and perennial borders provide colour from late spring through summer.
During the Tulip Time Flower Festival, held each September, the park is planted with tens of thousands of tulips in coordinated colour schemes. The festival runs for three weeks and draws visitors from across Australia who come to photograph the massed displays and enjoy live entertainment, market stalls, and guided garden tours.
The park sits within easy walking distance of Bowral's main shopping strip and cafes, making it a natural starting point for any visit to the Southern Highlands.
