Tasmania's wildlife park, up close
schedule 1 min read / Updated Jun 2026
East Coast Natureworld is Tasmania's premier accredited wildlife sanctuary, set on the Tasman Highway five minutes north of Bicheno between Douglas-Apsley National Park and Denison Beach. The park houses Tasmanian devils, wombats, quolls, echidnas, kangaroos, white wallabies, and more in naturalistic enclosures, with daily devil feedings and a range of hands-on encounter experiences. It is open daily from 9:30am to 3:00pm, closed only on Christmas Day.
General admission includes self-guided exploration of the grounds and access to devil feedings at 10:00am and 1:00pm, one of the most reliable ways in Australia to watch these iconic marsupials in action at close range. For a more immersive visit, the Park Entry and Encounter package adds a 15-minute guided animal interaction, while the 90-minute Ultimate Tour gives exclusive access to behind-the-scenes areas and hands-on time with resident animals. After dark, the Devils in the Dark experience offers a wine-and-cheese evening watching devils in low-light conditions.
Admission prices as of 2026 are $32 for adults, $19 for children aged 3 to 15, $29 for seniors and students with valid identification, and free for children under 3. A family pass (two adults, two children) is $89. A surcharge applies on public Tasmanian holidays. The park is wheelchair accessible and accepts advance bookings online for the specialised experiences.
