Perched on an escarpment 310 metres above sea level in the Orara East State Forest, the Forest Sky Pier at Sealy Lookout delivers one of the most dramatic panoramas on the NSW mid-north coast. The award-winning pier cantilevers out over a rainforest canopy, giving visitors a sweeping view that takes in Coffs Harbour, the Pacific Ocean, offshore islands, and the hinterland ranges, all for free, just ten minutes' drive from the city centre.
The pier itself is step-free from the car park and fully accessible for visitors with limited mobility, a rarity for a lookout of this elevation. Surrounding the pier, walking tracks ranging from a short 500-metre loop to multi-hour rainforest routes wind through the Bruxner Park Flora Reserve. The Gumgali Track incorporates Indigenous cultural storytelling panels that explain the Gumbaynggirr connection to this country.
The on-site cafe serves coffee and light meals, and picnic areas with barbecues are available near the car park. A canopy adventure activity operates adjacent to the forest trails for visitors seeking something more active.
The site is open to vehicles from 8 am until dusk every day, and coach parking is available for group tours. Because the lookout sits within a working state forest, conditions can change in wet weather, so checking road access before a trip in heavy rain is advisable.
