The historic winery property at Middle Swan is one of the Swan Valley's most recognisable landmarks, with a heritage cellaring complex and sprawling grounds that date back to the 1800s. Long known as the home of Houghton Wines, the site now operates as Nikola Estate, continuing the cellar door tradition while producing its own label wines from the surrounding vineyards.
The property retains the original stone buildings and mature gardens that made it one of Australia's most photographed wineries. The cellar door and cafe welcome visitors, offering tastings of wines made from fruit grown on the historic estate as well as other premium WA regions.
Middle Swan sits in the heart of the Swan Valley wine trail, making the estate a logical and scenic stop between Sandalford to the north and the cluster of producers further south. The heritage grounds are particularly appealing to photographers and those interested in WA wine history.
