Jindalba Boardwalk
Free rainforest walk above the floor

The Jindalba Boardwalk is a free 700-metre circuit trail in the Cape Tribulation section of Daintree National Park, located near Cow Bay about 10 kilometres north of the Daintree ferry. The elevated boardwalk rises up to four metres off the rainforest floor, threading through lowland tropical rainforest past king ferns, ancient fig trees and shallow creek crossings. It is one of the most accessible short walks in the Daintree.
The trail takes around 20 to 30 minutes at a relaxed pace and is classed as easy, making it suitable for most fitness levels. Interpretive signage along the route explains the ecology of the lowland rainforest, including the role of buttress roots, fig stranglers and the enormous diversity of ferns that carpet the forest floor.
The Jindalba car park also provides access to a longer 3-kilometre bush trail that climbs through the forest for those wanting a more substantial walk. Picnic tables and toilet facilities are available at the car park, which sits adjacent to the Daintree Discovery Centre.
Being free and open at all hours, Jindalba is an excellent option for early-morning wildlife spotting before other sites open. Musky rat-kangaroos, Boyd's forest dragons and a wide range of rainforest birds are regularly seen along the boardwalk.
