Katoomba Falls Reserve
Dramatic cascades above the escarpment

Katoomba Falls Reserve preserves the dramatic upper section of one of the Blue Mountains' most recognisable waterfalls, with the creek spilling over the sandstone escarpment in a series of drops totalling around 200 metres. The reserve sits directly above the valley on Cliff Drive and connects to an extensive network of cliff-top and valley walking tracks.
The reserve is accessed from Cliff Drive in Katoomba, close to Scenic World and with direct connections to the Prince Henry Cliff Walk and the track to Echo Point. From the picnic area at the top of the falls, visitors can look out over Orphan Rock and Witches Leap before the creek drops away into the valley below. A purpose-built night-lit walk operates seasonally, illuminating the falls and surrounding rock formations after dark.
Facilities at the reserve include picnic tables, public toilets and a large sports oval. The reserve is free to enter and the walking tracks are open at all times, making it a versatile stop for walkers who want to link several cliff-top experiences in a single outing. Car parking is available nearby on Cliff Drive, though spaces can be limited during peak periods.
