Kooroomba sits in the Fassifern Valley at Mount Alford, tucked beneath the Scenic Rim ranges. A vineyard, rows of blooming lavender, an award-winning restaurant, and a cellar door make it one of the most complete rural experiences in south-east Queensland. The lavender is at its fragrant peak from June to August, though the cellar door and kitchen are open Wednesday to Sunday year-round.

The cellar door offers tastings of Kooroomba's estate wines, varietals suited to the subtropical highland climate, with a tasting paddle available for a small fee. The gift shop carries lavender oils, soaps, culinary lavender, and local produce. The terrace is pet-friendly and serves lavender scones and muffins as a lighter alternative to the restaurant menu.

The restaurant is a destination in its own right, drawing produce from local farms and the estate's own kitchen garden. Bookings are essential and tables fill quickly on weekends. The venue closes on select dates for exclusive weddings, so it is worth checking the website before visiting.

Mount Alford is about 65 minutes from Brisbane and 90 minutes from the Gold Coast, making Kooroomba a natural centrepiece for a Scenic Rim day loop that might also include Lake Moogerah and the Boonah township.
