Lincoln's Rock
Sunset views over the Jamison Valley
schedule 1 min read / Updated Jun 2026
Lincoln's Rock is a broad sandstone outcrop on the Kings Tableland plateau above Wentworth Falls, offering one of the widest panoramic views of the Jamison Valley in the Blue Mountains. The short 300-metre walk from the carpark leads to a series of flat rock ledges where the cliff appears to fall away completely beneath your feet.
The lookout sits at around 860 metres elevation and faces west across the Jamison Valley, making it particularly well suited for late afternoon visits when the setting sun casts long shadows across the cliff faces. Two shallow caves near the lookout provide a framed view of the valley from within the rock, a feature that draws many photographers. The gravel path from the carpark is level and easy underfoot, though the rock itself requires care near the edges.
The site has no facilities, no toilets, picnic tables or kiosk, so visitors should bring water and snacks. Dogs are permitted on leads. The nearest town is Wentworth Falls, accessed via Tableland Road off the Great Western Highway. Entry is free and the lookout is accessible at any hour, though the access road is best avoided in dense fog.
