Mount Archer National Park and Nurim Circuit

Rising 604 metres above Rockhampton in the Berserker Ranges, Mount Archer (Nurim) offers sweeping views across the Fitzroy River valley from a sealed road that reaches almost to the summit. The highlight is the 580-metre Nurim Circuit, an easy loop walk featuring a 25-metre elevated boardwalk that extends over the escarpment edge, delivering panoramic vistas of the city and river far below.
The Nurim Circuit elevated boardwalk is wheelchair accessible and includes interpretive signage covering the culture and Country of the Darumbal people, whose ancestral connection to this landscape goes back thousands of years. The flat, easy loop suits all fitness levels and takes no more than 30 minutes at a comfortable pace, yet the reward is among the finest views in central Queensland.
Dawn and dusk are the most popular times to visit, when light plays across the river plains and the city lights begin to emerge. Facilities at the summit include wheelchair-accessible toilets and picnic tables. The park is open at all hours, free of charge, and is reached via Pilbeam Drive, roughly nine kilometres from the Rockhampton city centre.
