Spring Bluff Railway Station

Originally a water stop and signal point along the challenging range gradient, Spring Bluff was renamed in the late 1800s to evoke the spectacular seasonal gardens that local stationmasters cultivated over the generations. Regular passenger services ceased in 1992, but the station was preserved by the National Trust of Queensland in 1994 and has since become a beloved heritage attraction.

The grounds feature free electric barbecues, picnic tables and chairs, public toilets, and a playground, making it an ideal spot for families to spend a morning. A cafe operates on the property on select days. Walking trails wind through the site and into the surrounding bushland, passing the distinctive sandstone bluffs for which the locality is named.

Spring Bluff is especially popular during the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers when the station gardens are at their most spectacular. The precinct continues to attract visitors throughout the year.
