Tamworth Marsupial Park

The park has been a fixture of Tamworth life for generations, offering genuine close-up wildlife encounters without any entry charge. Eastern grey kangaroos and swamp wallabies are accustomed to visitors and can often be fed by hand. The free-flight aviary is home to a variety of native bird species, and the resident Indian peacocks add a splash of colour as they wander the lawns.

A walking track winds through the park and connects to the adjacent Tamworth Botanic Gardens and the longer Kamilaroi Walking Track, which links several parks across the wider area. The adventure playground is split into two zones, one designed for children under five and a separate area for older kids, making it a practical family destination for a half-day visit.

Barbecue facilities and public amenities are available on site. Disabled access is provided, with a flat, well-maintained path system throughout most of the grounds.
