Set on native wetlands and bush five kilometres from Victor Harbor, Urimbirra is an open-range wildlife park where visitors walk freely among kangaroos, wombats, emus, and dingoes. Daily koala-patting sessions and snake-handling demonstrations make it one of the most hands-on wildlife experiences on the Fleurieu Peninsula.

The park holds over 400 native animals across a varied landscape of open paddocks, wetland edges, and native plantings. Kangaroos can be hand-fed throughout the day, and the resident wombats and echidnas are accustomed to calm visitors. Emus patrol the central paddock with characteristic curiosity. Koala patting sessions run twice daily and are included in the entry price, with a professional handler ensuring the animals are handled safely.

A snake-handling demonstration each afternoon introduces visitors to several Australian species and covers identification, biology, and first-aid responses to envenomation. The farmyard section adds alpacas, sheep, rabbits, guinea pigs, and chickens for younger children. The park is designed for a self-guided, unhurried visit and most families take two to three hours to cover the grounds.

Urimbirra sits on the main Adelaide Road, making it a natural stop between Adelaide and Victor Harbor. It opens every day of the year including public holidays, and the relaxed open-range format means wildlife encounters are genuine rather than staged.
