Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk
Walk among ancient tingle trees
schedule 1 min read / Updated Jun 2026
Suspended 40 metres above the forest floor on a 600-metre steel walkway, the Tree Top Walk at Walpole-Nornalup National Park puts you eye to eye with the canopy of ancient red tingle trees, some of the world's tallest flowering plants. The site also includes the free Ancient Empire ground-level trail and a Discovery Centre, making it a half-day destination for all fitness levels.
Red tingle trees can live for over 400 years and grow to extraordinary girths, their hollow fire-scarred bases large enough to stand inside. The Tree Top Walk's gentle ramp system means there are no steps, so the experience is accessible for wheelchairs and prams.
Free guided forest tours run through the day, and short forest talks are offered at regular intervals. A coffee van and gift shop operate on site, and shaded picnic areas are available in the car park. The Ancient Empire boardwalk and Discovery Centre admission are included free with any visit.
