Established in 2015 and stretching over 500 kilometres around the entire coastline of the Yorke Peninsula, Walk the Yorke is one of South Australia's most ambitious multi-day trail projects. Suitable for both walkers and cyclists, the route links samphire flats, mangrove channels, rugged limestone cliffs, surf beaches, and heritage fishing towns, with 19 designated free bush campsites spaced along the way.

The trail combines purpose-built singletrack and doubletrack with existing coastal paths and back roads. Interpretive signs developed with the Narungga people share Dreaming stories and language connected to the land along the route, giving the walk a cultural depth that goes well beyond scenery.

Shorter day walks can be accessed at numerous points around the peninsula, making the trail just as rewarding for casual visitors as for those completing the full circuit. Highlights include cliff-top sections near Corny Point and Daly Head, tidal flats near Port Wakefield, and the windswept dunes approaching Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park at the southern tip.

Maps can be purchased or ordered from the Yorke Peninsula Council and are available over the counter at the Ardrossan Visitor Centre seven days a week. The trail is free to walk, and no permit is required for bush camping along the designated sites.
